Referee Bookings for CMHA Home Games

Chestermere Minor Hockey Teams

If you need to book referees for an exhibition game and plan to use an already scheduled practice ice time for your team, you must first contact  the Ice Director of CMHA using the following link:ice@chestermereminorhockey.com. Please ensure that you supply the following information: (Home Team, Date, Time, Duration, Visiting Team, Exhibition or League game & Venue). The Ice Director will then schedule your ice, or change your practice ice to game ice and will update the referee system. You will receive a confirmation that this change has been made. 

Time is of the essence! When requesting officials, plan ahead as assigning is done on Tuesdays. We will always make every effort to assign officials. 

***Please note that referees will automatically be scheduled for all games in Chestermere Red or Blue. It is up to the teams to cancel officials, charges may apply to the teams for late cancellation.

If you are making a last minute request for officials, every effort will be made to assign officials to games but if there are none available, then there can be no game. 

Please do not start calling anyone that you can think of to get referees, we do that for you through the process that is in place with the Ice Director / Referee Association. 

There are rules within the referee association that allow certain age officials to work certain levels of hockey, and that is approved by the Referee Association only. Officials that work hockey not approved by the referee association are subject to disciplinary actions. These rules are in place for the safety of everyone involved, especially the officials and players. 

In closing, officials availability at the beginning of the season is always at a minimum as officials are involved in hockey tryouts, referee clinics, personal committments etc...
