Worlds longest hockey game update

2012-05-03

Worlds longest hockey game starts on May 6th...

Hello Hockey Families,

The Worlds Longest Hockey Game is soon approaching, this weekend (May 6 at the Chestermere Rec Centre) and to date they are over $600,000 and still working towards their goal of $1.5M for the Alberta Children’s Hospital Foundation.

Below is a quick break down of the event as well they would like to invite you, your friends and family to come out and cheer these 40 hockey players on for 10.5 days of continuous hockey.

Rules:
2 teams 20vs20
Players cannot switch teams once the puck is dropped
Players cannot be replaced if injured
Players cannot leave the arena for the 10.5 day once the game starts
Each player will play between 12-16hrs of hockey per day depending on their rotation

The players sat down with the medical staff to outline what their bodies will go through during this event. From no sleep, dehydration, muscle cramping, and the possibility of permanent or long-term effects on the bodies…

However if you ask these players they would do this for 30 days if it means saving the life of one child.
